Chapter President's Note to Members
September, 2007

It's really hard to believe it's been a year since our last picnic - which was the tailgate party to christen the opening of Stanford's new stadium with a huge 37-9 Navy win! Still makes me smile to think about it.

It's also hard to believe that 4 years ago this month, I started my tenure as Chapter President. As you may know, I relocated to Southern California some time ago. I've really enjoyed my time as President of the San Francisco Chapter more than words can say. I've made many good and lasting friends through this Chapter, and I've had the opportunity to participate in some really special events over the last few years - a few Superintendent visits, the Emerald Bowl, and the Stanford game, just to name a few, but now it's time to pass the baton. I want to sincerely thank everyone for their support, kind words, feedback, offers to volunteer, and just general participation. I have been very fortunate for my association with each of you, and I have great memories to take with me!

James Ryan has been doing much of the heavy lifting while I've been absent, and Mark Lundstrom has been doing his usual great job as Treasurer. We've also had a few volunteers step up to contribute their time and efforts, most notably Billy Butler, our candidate for Regional Trustee last year and our golf event coordinator, and Julie Sears our fantastic webmaster.

With the picnic comes our annual officer elections. The Chapter convened a nominating committee, and we have nominated the following candidates for the Chapter Officers for the election to be held at the picnic:

President - James Ryan
Treasurer - Mark Lundstrom
Secretary - Steve Scortino
Vice President, Awareness - Billy Butler
Vice President, Activities - Joe Buenavista

Please come out for a great day of fun and good food and to welcome in a new leadership team.
